THE DIGEST
📡 Bell Outage Hits Thousands, But It's Fixed Now 📡
If your internet glitched out Wednesday morning, you weren’t alone—nearly 140,000 users reported outages across the country, with Bell confirming a router update was to blame. Service was fully restored by 11 a.m., but the company recommends rebooting your modem if you're still seeing issues. Bell says it wasn’t a cyberattack, but their network team is reviewing what went wrong to prevent it from happening again.
🎉 Etobicoke Shop Sells $75K Winning Lottery Ticket 🎉
Dina Al Kadmani of Vaughan is $75,000 richer after playing the Instant Hyper Slots lottery game, and her winning ticket was purchased at Shop ’N’ Milk on Browns Line in Etobicoke. The 25-year-old receptionist initially thought she had won just $75, but a closer look revealed the full prize amount. She plans to buy a car, pay off bills, invest, and share some of the winnings with her mom. “It’s just unreal,” she said.
📬 Canada Post Strike Looms as Union Issues Notice 📬
Postal workers could walk off the job as early as Friday after the union representing 55,000 employees issued a strike notice. The dispute stems from proposed changes to working conditions and benefits, and comes amid financial strain and calls for weekend delivery. A deal must be reached by 12:01 a.m. May 23 to avoid a national service disruption
