THE DIGEST

📡🚫 5G Tower Sparks Health Concerns 🚫📡
Despite resident outrage over health concerns, construction for a 5G tower in an Etobicoke plaza is in full swing. Health Canada denies any risks, but locals worry about potential health issues like cancer due to electromagnetic fields. Even with modest petition support and political pushback, the tower, opposed by residents and some officials, is set to go operational soon. The debate rages on as construction proceeds.

🛒🚪Queensway-Kipling Sobeys Is Checking Out 🚪🛒
The Kipling Sobeys, a longtime grocery staple in South Etobicoke, is closing its doors this fall. Staff say the last day will be November 1, but the company is staying quiet about the reason. Locals suspect a condo development is on the way, and many are frustrated about losing another essential shop as the area gets more crowded. Keep an eye out for those final sale signs.

🚨 Etobicoke Stabbing Sends One to Hospital 🚨
An incident involving a knife left one man injured with lacerations to his face and arms in Etobicoke. Toronto police responded to reports of a person wielding a knife at Kipling Avenue and Hinton Road, leading to one man in his 40s being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. A suspect in his 30s is in custody, but the details behind the incident are still under investigation.
