THE DIGEST

🚗💥 Speed Camera Sabotage: Crime or Comedy? 🚗💥
Speed cameras across Toronto, from Etobicoke to Scarborough, faced a night of vandalism, leaving 16 of them destroyed. The Parkside Drive camera particularly drew attention, being targeted multiple times. While police investigate, Premier Doug Ford calls the cameras a "tax grab," sparking controversy. With mixed messages from politicians and ongoing attacks, the city is left questioning whether these incidents are a serious crime or turning into a comedic saga.

🐟🌊 Get Ready for the Salmon Olympics 🌊🐟
Every fall, Etobicoke’s rivers become a stage for the salmon run, with Chinook, Coho, and Brown Trout making their dramatic journey upstream to spawn. Top local spots like Etienne Brulé Park and Raymore Park Dam offer front-row views of these powerful fish as they leap over rocks and rapids. It’s a must-see seasonal event, but skip the fishing. Many of these fish aren’t safe to eat, and the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority is working hard to protect their journey.

🏗️🏙️ Tower Time in Etobicoke: What's Going Up? 🏙️🏗️
A 45-storey rental tower near Kipling Station is in the works, part of the Six Points transformation. The tower by LiUNA, Fengate Asset Management, and The Hi-Rise Group is set to include 530 units, amenities like terraces and indoor spaces, and even a public-accessible space. With the area rapidly evolving into a high-rise zone, this development adds to the changing skyline of Etobicoke.

Why don't salmon ever place bets?
Because they're afraid of getting hooked on it!
