Alectra had locals seeing dark when power outages hit parts of Vaughan and Etobicoke, leaving thousands in the dark Monday night. The culprit? Salt and de-icing products causing chaos on distribution lines. While power has been restored, Alectra warns of potential disruptions ahead as crews scrub away salt residue. Looks like Mother Nature and her salty sidekick are causing quite the electric drama in the neighborhood.

Etobicoke is about to get a whole lot healthier with the grand opening of a massive Healthy Planet store this week. Southern Ontario got a rude awakening with a messy winter storm bringing a mix of ice pellets, snow, and freezing rain. The aftermath? Flight cancellations, slippery roads, and power outages. With a yellow weather warning in place, Environment Canada predicts more storms on the horizon, potentially bringing additional snow and freezing rain. As residents brace for icy conditions and more freezing drizzle, the city's struggling to stay on its feet. Winter: 1, GTA: 0.
