🚴♂️ Is a Costly U-Turn Coming for the Bloor Street West Bike Lanes? 🚴♀️
Etobicoke's Bloor Street West bike lanes are at the center of a heated discussion, with some residents pushing for their removal due to traffic concerns. However, dismantling these lanes could come with a hefty price tag. The City of Toronto has invested approximately $4.5 million in the Bloor Street West Complete Street Extension project, which includes the bike lanes. Removing them would not only negate this investment but also incur additional costs for the dismantling process. As the community weighs the pros and cons, it's clear that any decision will have significant financial implications. There is also a debate around how often the lanes are used.
